How to make Sun Water

Sun water is water that has been energized by being exposed to sunlight. It’s believed in some spiritual and holistic practices that water can absorb the sun’s energy, making it more beneficial for drinking, healing, or other ritualistic purposes. Here’s a simple guide to making sun water:

Materials Needed:

  1. Clean glass jar or bottle: Preferably made of clear glass. You can also use colored glass bottles if you believe the color adds specific energies (like blue for calmness or green for healing).
  2. Fresh water: Use spring water, filtered water, or any water that you consider pure and safe to drink.
  3. Sunlight: A sunny day is ideal, but even a partly sunny day will work.

Instructions:

  1. Cleanse Your Jar or Bottle:

    • Make sure your glass jar or bottle is clean and free from any impurities or contaminants. Some people prefer to wash the jar with salt water to cleanse it energetically.
  2. Fill the Jar with Water:

    • Pour the fresh water into the glass jar or bottle. Leave some space at the top to allow for expansion if you plan to freeze it later.
  3. Set Your Intentions (Optional but Recommended):

    • Hold the jar in your hands, close your eyes, and set your intentions for the water. This could be anything from wishing for healing, clarity, positivity, or any specific desire you have. Some people speak affirmations or prayers into the water, believing that the energy and intention will be absorbed by the water.
  4. Place the Jar in Direct Sunlight:

    • Find a sunny spot where the jar can sit undisturbed for a few hours. A windowsill, garden, or balcony that gets direct sunlight is ideal. The jar should be exposed to sunlight for at least 1 to 3 hours. For stronger sun energy, you can leave it out longer, but avoid prolonged exposure to prevent the water from getting too warm or harboring bacteria.
  5. Remove the Jar:

    • After the desired time, take the jar out of the sunlight. Some people prefer to do this before the sun sets, as they believe the sun’s energy is most potent before dusk.
  6. Store Your Sun Water:

    • Store your sun water in a cool, dark place if you’re not using it immediately. You can keep it in the refrigerator to maintain freshness, especially if you plan to drink it.
  7. Use Your Sun Water:

    • Drink it, use it for making tea or other beverages, water your plants, cleanse your crystals, or use it in spiritual rituals and bathing. Use it within a few days for the best results.

Additional Tips:

  • Avoid Using Plastic: Plastic containers can leach chemicals, especially when exposed to sunlight, so always use glass.
  • Timing: Some believe that the time of day or astrological events can influence the energy of the sun water. For instance, creating sun water during a new moon or specific solar events is thought to add particular energies.
  • Add Crystals (Optional): If you work with crystals, you can place a crystal inside the jar or around it while it’s in the sun to infuse the water with the crystal’s energy. However, be cautious as not all crystals are safe to place in water.

Precautions:

  • Bacteria Growth: If you’re going to drink the sun water, make sure the water source is clean and fresh. Sunlight can warm the water, potentially encouraging bacterial growth, so only leave the water out for a limited time.
  • Intended Use: If using for spiritual or ritual purposes, use the water promptly to ensure the energy remains potent.

By following these steps, you can create your own sun water, charged with the sun’s energy and your personal intentions.
